Details of Experience:
Mrs. Joan Weintraub, at the age of 73, was admitted to the Grand Pavilion for Rehabilitation and Nursing on June 19, 2019, following a hip replacement surgery. Mrs. Weintraub presented to the Grand Pavilion Community with a diagnosis of generalized muscle weakness and poor standing balance, which resulted in the need for intense physical and occupational therapy with goals of gaining mobility and posture stability. Upon Mrs. Weintraub’s admission, she was greeted and made comfortable by our clinical team including nurses, therapists, dietician, social worker and Concierge to ensure a positive and home resembling environment.

Upon therapeutic evaluation, a daily care plan of therapy services was developed to help her get back on her feet. Our therapy team worked on improving balance while standing, encourage and support her recovery of safety awareness and ability to perform functional tasks, and minimize pain. Alongside the mentioned care plan, the motivated and determined Mrs. Weintraub worked fiercely with the therapy team in reaching her targeted goals of recovery and success.

When asked by our Director of Concierge prior to discharge, Mrs. Weintraub had only positive things to say about her stay at The Grand Pavilion, including the nurses’ and aids’ care and concern for her wellbeing, and couldn’t stop raving on how amazing her physical and occupational therapists were. She also stated, “The food was very good, especially the ice cream cart” as this was one of the signature Concierge amenities.

As she made consistent progress throughout treatment and care and her functional abilities improved, Mrs. Weintraub was able to ambulate 200 feet with independence, and the whole team was delighted to provide her with a safe transition back home!
