Joan Skyers, RN
Director of Nursing
Joan began her Nursing career as a registered nurse, working in various acute care settings. While doing her BSN at Downstate Medical Center, she was offered a job as an RN Supervisor in Long Term Care. Shortly thereafter, she was promoted to the Assistant Director of Nursing. Joan received her Master's of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University and has been a DNS for over 20 years. She is extremely passionate about the residents and staff. Joan believes that you cannot have resident centered care without a staff centered approach. Therefore, both resident and staff perspectives should be taken into account in an attempt to improve a person-centered climate for better care outcomes. As the Director of Nursing, she is dedicated to the mission and the vision of the organization.
